  • i have been cutting for about 1 to 2 months now and it has progressivly gotten worse. I have no clue how to stop and it is hard to cover up the scars. they are now covering the lower part of my wrists. please help!!

    instead of cutting yourself, play piano. playing the piano at a late age is one of the most torturous things you can do to yourself. it's relieving and it's something you can show to others without them wanting to have you hospitalized. it's extremely difficult to teach yourself but if you do, you'll hurt the same, just in the a different way.

    or exercise excessively.
    play video games.
    guitar.
    talk to me about your secrets.

    I used to do the same thing for years, then burning, and then having others hurt me. it's a bad cycle that gets worse if you don't stop it.

    IVE RECENTLY STATED SCRATING AT MY ARM WITH MY LONG SHARP NAILS I HAVE A LOT OF ISSUES AND FIND IT VERY HARD TELLING ANYONE IN MY EVERYDAY LIFE WHAT IS GOING ON OR HAD HAPPEND TO ME! I WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO HELP YOU BUT I KNOW THE ONLY WAY TO GET HELP IS TO BE BRAVE AND START GETTING YOUR ISSUES OUT, EVERYONE NO MATTER HOW NORMAL THEY MAY LOOK ON THE OUTSIDE HAS ISSUES THAT ARE HARD FOR THEM NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL! I FEEL LIKE THE SCRATCHING AT MY ARMS FEELS LIKE A RELIFE A SIGN OF MY PAIN I FEEL ON A DAILY BASIS, WHAT IS YOUR THOUGHTS ON YOUR SELF HARM? I DONT TRY AND THINK I KNOW WHATS GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE BUT I DO SYMPATHISE WITH YOU! AND IF YOU WANNA CHAT IM HERE! GOOD LUCK IN TRYING TO FIND HELP! COMING ON HERE AND LETTING IT OUT IS A START,IF NOTHING ELSE FEEL PROUD OF THAT!!!

    Cutting can become an addiction and it is just as hard to stop cutting as it is to stop using drugs. I think you have to view stopping in the same way as stopping any other addiction. It is very hard, but finding another way to express your emotion and working on ways to love yourself like saying positive affirmations.
