Trans masculine, pre-everything in an unaccepting household

Sexuality & Gender

  • Hi, my name is Ashton.I used to go by Danny, but felt it no longer fit. I'm trans masculine and a cosplayer, but my family won't accept that I'm a part of the LGBTQIA+ community and refuse to allow me to discover myself. I've asked them if they could buy me a binder a few years ago, still no binder 2 1/2 years later, so I ask again and they say "Give me a good reason why you feel you need a binder". Apparently cosplay isn't a good enough reason for a closeted trans guy to have a binder. Any tips on how to eventually get them to see my POV? Thanks.
